Vital Paws is a dedicated critical care program provided by Koda’s Gift of Pawsitivity. Unlike routine wellness services, this initiative focuses strictly on providing urgent financial assistance for emergency veterinary care. We believe no pet should be separated from their family due to unexpected medical crises. By steping in with vital support when it’s needed most, we ensure pets receive the immediate, life-saving attention they deserve—while staying in the loving homes where they belong.

How Funding Works…
At Vital Paws, we ensure that financial assistance is used responsibly and effectively to help pets in need. Here’s how our funding process works:
Vet-Direct Payments
Funds go directly to veterinary offices for approved medical treatments—never to individuals.
Transparent & Secure
To prevent misuse, we only issue payments to licensed veterinary clinics for necessary care.
Needs-Based Assistance
Each request is reviewed based on urgency, financial need, and available funds to help as many pets as possible.
Before You Apply
Please review the following information before applying for assistance.
Vital Paws provides support for urgent and critical veterinary needs. This program does not cover routine care that is the responsibility of the pet owner, including vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, and general wellness care. Koda’s Gift of Pawsitivity may offer separate assistance with spay and neuter services based on eligibility and available funding.
If you contact us Monday through Friday after 7:00 PM, your call will be returned the following day. Weekend availability is limited and cannot be guaranteed. Koda’s Gift of Pawsitivity is a nonprofit organization operated by volunteers who generously give their time to help animals and families in need.
